The 2024 Phius Policy Summit (April 16-17) will explore the role policies play in fostering widespread adoption of Phius projects.
The 2024 Phius Policy Summit (April 16-17) is less than two weeks away, but there is still time for you to join us in exploring how we can shape policy and how policy will shape the future of our built environment.
The two-day virtual event will illustrate the ways in which policies remove barriers to Phius projects and demonstrate how the work being done to advance these policies is paving the way for widespread adoption of Phius projects. Attendees will get an inside look at work being done in a variety of states and be equipped with the tools needed to take action.
Phius Policy Specialist Isaac Elnecave and Phius Policy Associate Zoe Rader will host. The following experts will also offer their unique perspectives on passive policy:
Elizabeth Turner, architect and sustainability consultant at Precipitate
Sean Meyers, Principal of Threshold Development Group
Katie Kaluzny, Deputy Director of the Illinois Green Alliance
Beverly Craig, program director at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center
Lauren Westmoreland, vice president of energy and sustainability for the Stewards of Affordable Housing for the Future (SAHF)
The first day of the 2024 Phius Policy Summit will offer insights from professionals in various states who have worked with Phius to implement strategies such as Qualified Allocation Plans, Incentives, and Alternative Compliance Paths to promote the uptake of Phius projects.
Day two will explore Phius as a stretch code and how affordable housing developers are thinking about Phius projects. Learn what is essential on state and national levels to promote Phius projects though policy.
Throughout the summit, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to take action in their state. The only way we can continue to make progress in passive policy is with boots on the ground. Join us for the summit to start making an impact!
Much of the growth of passive building to this point can be attributed to advancements in policy, and it is up to our community to continue to foster that progress. Passive policy takes many different shapes and forms, and the 2024 Phius Policy Summit programming is intentionally designed to offer examples and perspectives that are emblematic of a variety of situations throughout the country.
Want to get involved, but aren’t sure how? The Phius Policy Summit is your way in! Know someone involved with policy who should be part of the conversation? Invite them too! Join us in pushing forward to support increased adoption of Phius Standards throughout the United States and beyond.
