Phius Standards for Retrofit Projects

Many of the buildings of the future already exist today. Passive retrofit solutions provide substantial benefits, and utilizing the existing structure avoids the embodied carbon impact of new construction projects.

Phius REVIVE 2024

Phius REVIVE 2024 is a pioneering framework for retrofits that prioritizes resilience and decarbonization while maintaining the quality assurance and other core principles of existing Phius standards. The certification process for REVIVE 2024 includes the creation of a range of solution packages tailored to the needs and existing conditions of each project developed utilizing specially designed software tools. The results are projects optimized for carbon and financial cost, making REVIVE 2024 highly adaptable.

Phius CORE REVIVE 2021

Phius CORE REVIVE 2021 is Phius' legacy certification for retrofitting existing buildings. In order to achieve our carbon reduction goals, many existing buildings must be revived to meet passive building levels of performance. Enclosure focused passive building retrofits provide substantial benefits such as comfort, indoor air quality, lower utility bills, decreased impact on the electric grid, and less renewable energy necessary to get to ZERO.

Phius ZERO REVIVE 2021

Phius ZERO REVIVE 2021 is Phius' zero energy standard for retrofitting existing buildings. Built upon CORE REVIVE, it is arguably the most stringent of the standards, setting the net source energy target at ZERO, not allowing for fossil-fueled combustion on site, and providing both on-site and off-site renewable energy options to get to ZERO. In order to achieve our carbon reduction goals, many existing buildings must be revived to zero energy passive buildings.
