Accord NY Passive House
Recognized as a finalist in PHIUS 2018 Design Awards, this certified Passive House was designed by North River Architecture & Planning to be a case study in affordable, adaptable and resilient design. Aiming for maximum positive impact beyond the energy efficiency goals, local contractors with no prior experience in Passive House were trained on site to successfully meet high standards for airtightness, insulation, and construction quality, and open houses during construction made the project available to all who were interested in the process and solutions.
Glasswood Commercial PH Retrofit
Glasswood serves as a case study of the role Passive House can play in transforming the energy efficiency, occupant experience, and marketability of existing commercial spaces, all at affordable cost. Designed by Scott | Edwards Architecture and built by Hammer & Hand, the project is the first Passive House commercial retrofit in the US.

Passive House in the Woods

Commissioned by a private client, this home is the first certified Passive House in the state of Wisconsin, and at the time of completion one of only 5 Passive Houses in the United States.
The First Passivhaus Public U.S. School Building
The Center for Energy Efficient Design (CEED) in Franklin County, Va., is the first public school (K-12) in the United States designed to the Passivhaus building performance standard. This demonstration lab and learning facility situated at the edge of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, showcases a variety of renewable, sustainable and energy efficient features.
