Tom Hootman is an architect, engineer, educator, author, and the founder of Form & Flow, a building performance design consultancy for next-generation architecture. Focusing on climate-responsive design, high-performance envelopes, and innovative building system integration, he works with clients to give buildings superpowers and achieve healthy, resilient, decarbonized, and regenerative outcomes. 

Tom has contributed to the design of some of the region’s most high-performing buildings, including NREL’s zero energy Research Support Facility and Denver Water’s zero energy and one water administration building. In addition to building performance consulting, Tom has authored “Net Zero Energy Design,” published by Wiley, teaches sustainable systems at the University of Colorado’s graduate architecture program, and is a longtime contributor to DOE’s solar decathlon program.
