Terry is a Fellow in the University of Chicago’s Leadership and Society Initiative. Prior to joining the LSI program he spent 47 years in the financial services industry. During his career Terry had senior roles in securities brokerage, trading, asset management, operations and product development.
Before retiring from the financial services industry in September of 2024, Terry was a Partner and Global Head of Investment Operations and Trading at Aon Investment Consulting, a $200 billion asset manager based in Chicago. Prior to joining Aon, he spent 17 years at Northern Trust as a Senior Vice President in securities brokerage and technology related roles.
In his post-retirement chapter, Terry has done advisory work with mission-driven social enterprises in Chicago. On a national level, he has worked with Weave: The Social Fabric Project at the Aspen Institute. He brings his business acumen, organizational skills, and financial capabilities to the Phius Board of Directors.
Terry holds a BS in Economics from Illinois State University. In addition to his Fellowship, he is also a Graduate Student at Large at The University of Chicago.
