Hans Breaux is the founder and Principal Architect at Project CO+OP, based in Portland, Maine. As a licensed architect and Phius Certified Consultant, Hans specializes in high-performance, resilient, and sustainable design across Northern New England and beyond. He is a dedicated educator, teaching sustainable design at the University of Maine and serving as an instructor for Phius.
His recent work includes serving as the architect and Phius Certified Consultant for the Clay Brook Passive House, the first Phius Certified single-family home in New Hampshire. Clay Brook recently achieved Phius Source Zero certification and currently holds the lowest HERS score in the United States without the use of photovoltaics. Hans also serves on the Phius Alliance Council as the Upper Northeast Regional Representative.
