Chad Owens is a Phius Certified Consultant and professional engineer with more than 20 years of experience in high-performance residential construction. He serves as President of the Design Build Energy division at Envinity, where he oversees the design and construction of custom homes focused on comfort, durability, and energy performance.
Chad’s experience includes structural engineering, construction management, building enclosure systems, and design-build leadership. He works at the intersection of building science and hands-on construction, with a focus on making high-performance building practical. He also holds a real estate license, which broadens his perspective across the full lifecycle of a home.
Chad serves on the Phius Alliance Executive Committee and the Industry Advisory Council for the Pennsylvania Housing Research Center (PHRC). He is committed to helping integrate building science into everyday residential construction and to strengthening collaboration across the industry.
He lives in central Pennsylvania with his partner and four children, where home life includes an ongoing remodel that continually reinforces the importance of durability, efficiency and thoughtful design.
