Have you heard of the Phius Alliance? Are you already a member? Do you vaguely remember some email somewhere talking about it or about an Alliance meeting at PhiusCon?
Well hold on tight! If you don’t already know, the Phius Alliance is the membership arm of Phius. That means the Alliance provides and supports the ever-growing community of Phius passive building professionals and Phius-curious individuals throughout North America and beyond. Community how? Through the Alliance Council and Alliance Chapters, practitioners can connect to support one another and advance Phius standards through the Alliance.
Chapters and Regional Representatives of the Alliance Council create programming for members, communicate with Phius staff about the experience on the ground through projects and activities, and foster networking opportunities across the community. The Alliance is the member voice of Phius, providing a conduit between practicing professionals and Phius staff.
The Phius Alliance Council is composed of elected members chosen for their commitment to the promotion of Phius standards, their professional experience and their geographic diversity. Currently, the Council consists of members nominated and elected by the Phius Alliance membership. There are 17 Council members made up of 14 Regional Representatives who represent the climatic regions of the US, and three at large members. The Council is led by four officers making up the Executive Council.
This spring, an all new Executive Council was elected. Alan Gibson and Dan Whitmore, who diligently served on the Council for more than five years and helped bring the Alliance to its current state and capacity, have handed off the reins to a new and exciting group of leaders.
