Several weeks ago, we at Phius hit a major milestone when we Certified our 100th project of 2025. This is the first time in our history that more than 100 projects earned Phius Certification in a single calendar year, in addition to the 150 projects (and counting) that have been Design Certified this year! With nearly 400 projects registered in the last two years, those certification numbers are likely to continue on a sharp upward trajectory in the coming years. 

Our dedicated team of 25 full-time staff members pride themselves on punching above their weight, but donations are what enable us to expand our capacity, power our research, and continue on the leading edge of high-performance building. With the giving season upon us, we are asking anyone who believes in creating a healthier, more resilient built environment to consider donating to support us in meeting the rising demand and pushing the passive building industry forward.

Creating Healthy, Affordable Housing

Phius passive buildings are not only hyper-efficient, they also provide unmatched levels of comfort (indoor air quality, sound mitigation, even heating & cooling, etc.), resilience, durability and peace of mind. Living in a Phius home or apartment means no anxiety about that forecasted cold snap or heat wave. Phius buildings are designed to keep occupants comfortable under any and all weather circumstances, and even if the power goes out, they are proven to maintain livable indoor temperatures more than three times longer than code-built buildings.

We’re striving for a future in which everyone has the peace of mind of living in a Phius home, and we have made significant progress, specifically when it comes to affordable housing. Multifamily housing now represents the majority of square footage we certify, and more than 90% of the multifamily projects we have certified in the last several years are affordable housing.
