This means that efficiency and capacity drop off dramatically at extreme temperatures, requiring backup heating in cold climates and inefficient and insufficient cooling in high outside temperatures. • FPS’s cascade design uses more than one compressor and low-GWP refrigerants selected for their efficiencies in desired operating temperatures. PACS optimizes the interaction between the cycles—because of this optimization, superheats of between 1-3 ̊F are sufficient to prevent flooding the evaporator coil and potentially the compressors. Low superheats maximize heat transfer and energy efficiency. • The FPS design and PACS can be adapted for every application in the HVAC/R industry, adding efficiency, capacity, and range to heating, cooling, dual function, hydronic, steam, and refrigeration systems. • Learn more about FPS’s cascade design and PACS here: Genius Heat Pump could change how we heat our homes forever.
