Additional Notes Loantaka is a Proof of Concept that our existing built environment can be advanced to modern Passive House standards without the need for replacement. The structure is a circa 1958 split-level residence located in Climate Zone 5A. It is a challenging retrofit project with ample window area in a non-optimal layout. By carefully detailing the thermal enclosure and using advanced mechanicals, this project falls well within the PHIUS+2015 new construction parameters.
