
Evan Williamson joined Phius in December of 2022 as Director of Development. His career spans governmental work, non-profit communications, advocacy, and development. He previously served as Press Assistant to a Member of the House of Representatives; Manager of Corporate Relations at Start Early, an early childhood education nonprofit; and advocacy coordinator for the University of Illinois.
Evan's advocacy experience includes organizing rallies that brought hundreds of constituents to the Illinois Capitol in support of funding for public education during the 2015-2016 budget crisis, as well as direct relationship management with members of the General Assembly. As a fundraiser, Evan managed corporate donations to Start Early (formerly the Ounce of Prevention Fund) totaling over $1 million. He served for three years as Communications Co-Chair for the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Chicago, and as a member of the Auxiliary Board of the Lincoln Park Zoo. He was a founding member of the Affiliate Board of the Leukemia Research Foundation in 2017.
He holds a BA in political science and environmental science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Masters in Environmental Urban Planning from the University of Illinois Chicago.
