Phius Certified Builder Training and Certification Exam | Seattle, WA | July 2025

This is a pilot course that will feature newly revamped training content.

The new CPHB training content is updated to reflect the latest passive building best practices and strategies. The new curriculum also has an increased focus on multifamily buildings, as they continue increasing in prominence in the passive building sector.

The training includes 8-12 hours of self-guided training to be completed prior to the in-person instruction. The self-guided training will introduce the foundational theories and concepts of the course, and the in-person, instructor-led portion will focus on real-world application. Trainees will receive access to the self-guided materials on July 7, which is the last day to register.

The CPHB training is meant for tradespeople and construction professionals with field experience. The training is open to all with past experience in construction and/or high-performance building.

Learning Objectives:
- High performance building enclosure systems with an emphasis on field inspection
- Air barriers and passive building retrofitting
- Quality assurance and quality control strategies
- Climate-specific detailing
