PHIUS Alliance Grants Program
The PHIUS Alliance council, with support from the PHIUS board, provides a grant program to Chapters and to PHIUS Alliance members intended to support the development of new chapters, new initiatives, and to help spread the word about passive building. The council has set aside $10,000 from this year's budget to fund this grant initiative.
Chapters in good standing can apply for a matching grant for up to $2,000 to help fund
a larger chapter initiative. PHIUS Alliance members in good standing can apply for grants up to
$500 to help promote passive house or for chapter startup. We urge you all to consider
how this funding could help strengthen your efforts in your region or city.
Recommended grant topics for this year include the following:
-Individual scholarships for Rater or Verifier training, specifically in regions that have limited access to PHIUS certified Raters and Verfiers.
-Projects that research MLS and Green Appraisals to better position certified passive buildings within the real estate market and accurately reflect appraisal values.
-Projects that will enhance a chapter’s social media presence and better position them to engage audiences on passive building and chapter activities.
-Projects that involve integrating analysis of initial carbon in comparison with operational carbon for both new and retrofit construction projects.
Please note, requests for passive building projects, such as buying a home to retrofit or off setting building costs, will not be considered.
